13. We’re excited to announce the upcoming Three Corners Dog Park at Horizon | Three Sides, One Big Adventure, a triangle-shaped adjacent play area designed just for your furry friends. In addition, our clinic offers three other spacious grassy areas—perfect for relaxing while catching a Conroe Tigers baseball or softball game, or sneaking a peek at the action at nearby Buddy Moorhead Stadium.

14. All our exam rooms feature glass doors and walls, allowing you to see everything happening in our treatment area. Our open-concept design lets you stay right beside your pet throughout their care, if you choose. Plus, four of our exam rooms conveniently bookend the ICU, so your furry family member is always close to expert attention.

27. Cat grooming: We groom cats. We sedate all cats for grooming for their and our safety. All cats are monitored by a doctor during sedation.

31. Full service Extended Hours & Urgent Care is now available on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.

34. Horizon Bombs and Horizon Salts? We say “Welcome home to Horizon. Relax, you’re in good hands.” By offering you your choice of bath salts or a bath bomb.

35. Two-way text messaging. We understand not everyone has time to talk on the phone, so we offer text messaging as an alternative way to communicate.

36. Open door policy: You are welcome throughout our facility. We partner with you in the care of your pet. Even if you just want to say hello to Dr. Rainer, he always loves to talk to folks in his office.

37. Getting on the floor: We don’t mind. Our larger patients prefer it.

39. Comfortable Relaxation: We have a special room for heavy discussions or to say goodbye to a beloved pet. A separate exit to the outside gives our clients privacy on their own time.

40. Specials: We provide a dedicated space for giant breed dogs, exotic pets, rehabilitation, photobiomodulation therapy, acupuncture, and sensitive conversations including euthanasia. This room features a private exit to ensure your pet and family can have privacy and avoid traffic through the clinic.

41. Ultrasounds & Echocardiograms: Performed on-site for all animals, including exotic species.

42. X-Rays: We have two X-ray units—one in our treatment area for outpatient imaging, and a portable unit serving both our dentistry area and surgery suite, minimizing patient movement after procedures.

43. Surgery Suite: Our surgical suite was featured by Today’s Veterinary Innovation as one of the “Most Innovative” and “Ahead of Its Time” dedicated surgical suites in the nation.

44. Neighborhood schools: We will also attend school science days and career fairs to encourage the next generation of veterinarians and encourage schools to come take a tour.  We are truly an open clinic.  Volunteers are welcomed.

45. Cremation services: We work with Pet Meadows, who are by far the most compassionate people to perform the aftercare of your loved one.

58. Safe anesthesia: Our team is extensively trained. We always have a dedicated anesthetist and use state-of-the-art monitoring equipment to make anesthesia as safe as possible for your pets.

65. Internships: We mentor high school, college, and vet school interns and externs to help build careers. Ask us about this program if your student is a budding veterinarian.

66. Continuing education: As a veterinarian, we are required to obtain 17 hours of continuing education annually. Dr. Rainer encourages Horizon veterinarians to obtain 150 hours of continuing education in three years to stay on the cutting edge of medicine.

67. Teaching: We like to send videos and teach about certain subjects, so don’t be surprised if we email or text you something we discussed in the exam room. Ask about the Digital Imaging Atlas (DIA). This is a high-quality way to teach tough subjects.

68. We will NEVER pressure you to perform testing. All decisions are yours. It’s our job to explain the options and the benefits and consequences of each.

69. We offer home delivery in several ways, on Scriptly™ and through local delivery on certain medications in order to meet or beat online stores like Chewy and Walmart.

70. Community: Dr. Rainer is a big believer in not just living within your community, he and his family contribute and live with their community. Don’t be surprised to see him or his family volunteering their time.

71. Puffin, our practice mascot, was rescued after being hit by a car. Her amazing, loving nature won everyone over, and the staff insisted she stay as our clinic cat. Now, she’s Dr. Rainer’s sidekick and happily greets all the pets who visit our practice.
