11. Access to care: We partnered with the Shores Foundation to provide funds to means-tested clients’ pets who are experiencing extenuating circumstances. Feel free to donate to the Shores Foundation to help a community member in need.
12. Specialty referrals; If we cannot handle it, we are within 30 minutes of Blue Pearl and over an hour from world-renowned Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists. We have great choices to get your pet the best-specialized care if needed.
13. Dog park: Our clinic has four grassy areas just in case someone wants to catch a Conroe Tigers’ baseball or softball game, or maybe even sneak a peak at the action at Buddy Moorhead Stadium, since we share a fence with Conroe ISD.
14. Reassurance philosophy: All exam rooms have doors and walls so that you can see what is going on in our treatment area. You can stay beside your pet for all parts of treatment if you want to. We even have four exam rooms that bookend our ICU.
15. Neighborhood schools: We will also attend school science days and career fairs to encourage the next generation of veterinarians and encourage schools to come take a tour. We are truly an open clinic.
16. 24-hour online booking: We provide 24-hour/7 days a week/365 days per year access to book an appointment through our Chckvet app or online at either myhorizonvet.com or by calling (936) 444-4850 and speaking to a live person.
17. We try to be a fear-free practice. Call us up, and we can discuss and plan for your visit in advance; in some instances, we can provide medications or supplements to make the visit a fear-free visit.
18. Step and repeat: We offer photo-ops for overly photogenic pets.
19. Kindness: Our Doctors, Client Concierges, Veterinary Assistants, and Credentialed staff will answer all your questions.
20. Coffee: You’re welcome to coffee anytime you visit us, whether you have an appointment or not. Our clients are family. We’ll have a freshly cleaned, fancy Keurig and a water pump using bottled water brands that ensure pure and fresh-tasting coffee every time.
21. Tours: Everyone is welcome to tour the hospital anytime. We especially love giving tours to elementary school-age classes.
22. Barks & Bubbles by Candice: We can’t wait to play with your pets during our downtime. It’s the best part of our day!
23. Camp Bubble: We have partnered with a local boarding facility so your pet can have an enriching boarding boarding experience at their facility - a true rustic retreat.
24. Cool art and Big TVs: All art is either from Texas artists or pet-exclusive art dealers, and we have TVs everywhere, including four 55” LED TVs smashed together that can provide one Texas-sized picture that’s over 100”.
25. Doggy Daycare! The clinic offers drop-off doggy daycare on-site as well.
26. Bandanas: Horizon logo bandanas are all the rage after a boarding or grooming visit.
27. Cat grooming: We groom cats. We sedate all cats for grooming for their and our safety. All cats are monitored by a doctor during sedation.
28. Overnight care: Available upon request with doctor(s) and technician(s) present.
29. Horizon Heroes: We provide discounts and special offerings to our heroes: veterans, active military, first responders, teachers, school administrators, and current youth/high school coaches
30. Extended hours. Tuesdays and Thursdays, we are open until 8:00 pm.

35. Two-way text messaging. We understand not everyone has time to talk on the phone, so we offer text messaging as an alternative way to communicate.
36. Open door policy: You are welcome throughout our facility. We partner with you in the care of your pet. Even if you just want to say hello to Dr. Rainer, he always loves to talk to folks in his office.

39. Comfortable Relaxation: We have a special room for heavy discussions or to say goodbye to a beloved pet. A separate exit to the outside gives our clients privacy on their own time.
40. Big dog room: We have a special room for giant breed dogs that has a separate exit to the outside so clients don’t have to worry about their dog being around others.
41. Aggressive dog room: We have a special room for aggressive dogs that has a separate exit to the outside so clients don’t have to worry about their dog’s behavioral tendencies. Tell us ahead of time, and our concierges will escort you from the car into the exam room.
42. X-rays: We have three x-ray units: in our treatment area for outpatient, in the dental area, and in our surgery room to reduce patient movement post-operatively.
43. Surgery suite: We were featured in Today’s Veterinary Innovation as one of the “Most innovative” and dedicated surgical suites in the southeast.
44. We don’t smell like a vet clinic. We infuse our air with pleasant, hypoallergenic scents.
45. Cremation services: We work with Pet Meadows, who are by far the most compassionate people to perform the aftercare of your loved one.
46. Convenient pre-visit downloadable forms to fill out the night before your visit to expedite things.
47. Pet Portal: Check your pet's medical records online, just like you do at the human doctor.
48. We have walk-in Saturdays for those who don’t have the time for an appointment during the week. On Saturday, we’re expecting you. Come on in, but come early. We stop taking walk-ins at 11am and close at noon.

50. Medication delivery: Dr. Rainer employs student-athletes, band, certified veterinary assistant candidates, and FFA high school students from Conroe, Willis, Magnolia, and Montgomery ISD to deliver medications, sometimes same-day.
51. We have spared no cost in implementing technology in our practice. We like to call ourselves a “Smart Practice.”
52. Compounding: We have a special partnership with a compounding pharmacy to help you deliver medications in the most effective manner.

55. Dr. Rainer sends every x-ray to Lighthouse Radiology out of Fort Lauderdale, FL, to one of his classmates who is a radiologist. Her family and his are dear friends.

Drop-offs, Walk-ins, Work-ins, Drop-ins: We know you’re busy, so we welcome drop-offs and pick-ups any time before closing, walk-ins where we get you in and out as quickly as possible on Saturdays, work-ins where we see your pet in between appointments that are finished or ahead of schedule, and drop-ins where you can just come by and get weight, work on socializing your pet or playing at the park.
57. Dr. Rainer has partnered with two specialty groups that analyze so that he remains in the top 15% of practices within the nation, which also keeps our prices low. American Animal Hospital Association, Veterinary Management Groups, and Veterinary Growth Partners.
58. Safe anesthesia: Our team is extensively trained. We always have a dedicated anesthetist and use state-of-the-art monitoring equipment to make anesthesia as safe as possible for your pets.
59. We have our own K9 Skincare line bearing the Horizon name, a dual Joint Supplement line with Ultimate FLEXFUEL by Dr. Rainer, and Ozendé by Dr. Rainer - a holistic anxiety and joint supplement.
60. Lab: Our onsite and reference laboratories use the most up-to-date equipment and techniques to provide comprehensive diagnostics for our patients.

65. Internships: We mentor high school, college, and vet school interns and externs to help build careers. Ask us about this program if your student is a budding veterinarian.
66. Continuing education: As a veterinarian, we are required to obtain 17 hours of continuing education annually. Dr. Rainer encourages Horizon veterinarians to obtain 150 hours of continuing education in three years to stay on the cutting edge of medicine.
67. Teaching: We like to send videos and teach about certain subjects, so don’t be surprised if we email or text you something we discussed in the exam room. Ask about the Digital Imaging Atlas (DIA). This is a high-quality way to teach tough subjects.
68. We will NEVER pressure you to perform testing. All decisions are yours. It’s our job to explain the options and the benefits and consequences of each.
69. We offer home delivery in several ways, on Scriptly™ and through local delivery on certain medications in order to meet or beat online stores like Chewy and Walmart.
70. Community: Dr. Rainer is a big believer in not just living within your community, he and his family contribute and live with their community. Don’t be surprised to see him or his family volunteering their time.
71. Hook and Stump are the practice mascots. Hook is a lovable Golden Retriever and Stump is a sarcastic Chihuahua.

82. Returns: If a diet we provide doesn’t work out, we will take it back for a full refund and find another solution, even if a 30 lb bag has 10 pieces of loose kibble in the bottom.
83. Vaccines: We only use the top-of-the-line, purest vaccines available. We have a very low adverse reaction rate compared to other vaccines.
84. Microchips: We use universal microchips.
85. We love questions. Call, text, or use the chat function to contact us any time or bring your list to your pet’s exam.
86. We offer at-home care and palliative medicine to meet your pet’s needs.
87. End of life: We will guide you through tough decisions and believe in the quality of life. We utilize a numerical, quantitative objective method combined with the pet owner’s beliefs along with the professional opinion of our doctors.
